Full of gratitude

Yesterday afternoon, my daughter and I were sitting at the kitchen table, eating ice cream out of plastic wine goblets, when I said to her, “Isn’t our life great?” She quickly agreed.  (She agrees with just about everything I say these days, so this was no surprise really.) I mean, here we are in the middle of a spring day, with no place we have to be and just enjoying each other’s company.  Sure, one of us probably would have liked to go to Hobby Lobby and the other would have liked to be reading, but that didn’t happen and it was ok.

This morning, we spent a few hours at my grandparents’ house enjoying some snacks and playing together.  How fortunate for us that we get to spend time with them; how fortunate for them to be able to enjoy their great granddaughter! I can always see the love in their eyes when they are with us.

Then, we went to see a house that MAY be our future home.  We are putting in an offer on a lovely, open, well-lit house on a quiet cul-de-sac.  It has everything we are looking for, most especially “that feeling” that I have when I know something’s right.  (Like the first time I met my husband.  Okay, the second time.)

And then there’s the upcoming FREE trip to Italy.  How wonderful is my life?! I can’t even begin to tell you how ridiculous it is that we are disappointed that we aren’t flying First Class.  How lucky are we that we get to go on such a fun-filled trip with so many delicious activities, vistas, meals, people that I can hardly stand it? Did I mention it’s for 8 days and it’s all free? Hee hee. (Well, it did require a wee bit of work for my hubby to get us to that level of success… way to go, love!)

So pinch me please.  We all have our health and we have so much to be thankful for.  So much to look forward to.  So much to enjoy now – right in front of us, even without the house and the trip.  We have each other.
