Turkey Day decorations, part 2… how it all came together

Whew! I’m pretty tired from our 31 person turkey day… but not tired enough to postpone editing some pics to show you all how everything looked. I was very happy with it and loved how festive it made us all feel.

First I’d like to share this excerpt from Dr. Laura. (Not that one… this one.) “Storybook holidays are limited to storybooks. Real parents get reality parenting, complete with cranky kids, messy kitchens, and store-bought pie. But extraordinary moments often masquerade as ordinary life. And Thanksgiving gives us a chance to remember that with all of its imperfections, that life is worth living.

“So look around the pandemonium and remind yourself to be grateful for every minute you get to spend with your children as they grow. For me, there’s no gratitude deeper than that.”

I love this because after I’d done all the cooking and cleaning and decorating and whatever else, I actively decided to let go and let the day be imperfect. And it was good.

I showed you in Monday’s post the centerpieces I made, the banner, etc. Here’s how it all came together…

I used Amanda Parker’s free Thanksgiving printables for many of these projects. (Those cute little oreo turkeys were made by my sister… love those!) Thanks for stopping by to see how it turned out. I hope those who were celebrating had a lovely holiday.

Did you hear? I’m having my first blog giveaway!

Until Monday…
