“Happy Fall” canvas

I’ve been sort of neglecting photography post-processing over the past couple of weeks in favor of playing with paints and papers.  I’m taking tons of pictures, but they’re relegated to awaiting editing on my computer while I create these other projects.

I absolutely LOVE this season and all that it brings with it.  I am so happy that I can go outside now that it isn’t sweltering here! So I created this fun canvas over the past couple of days and set it on our entry table where I can see and enjoy it.

It was awesome playing around with modeling paste and shimmery paints.  The words on the leaves are what I appreciate most about autumn…

I’ll be back tomorrow for an early Photo Friday… it’s time for a One Little Word update again!

Photo Friday: create a fall photo banner

One of the Big Picture Boot Camp prompts by the practical yet inspiring Tracey Clark was to actually (gasp!) print and display our photos.  I rarely do that anymore and it IS a shame not to enjoy them more, don’t you think?

I wasn’t going to do this one because there are 12 prompts in 12 days and who can keep up? But then my friend Kelly posted about it and hers looked so great and so I gave in.   Simply select a phrase, some pictures, and put one letter of your phrase on each 4×4 (or whatever size you fancy) page.  I liked how Kelly used a shape to accentuate her letters so I used a leaf shape at 60% opacity.  I printed 4×6 pictures onto 4×6 photo paper and cropped them down to be square.  I used my corner rounder punch and also punched holes for my string.

And ta da! I hung it on hemp cord (found in the jewelry design section of the craft store) in our living room above the TV.  Now I’m addicted… what else can I print and make?

Happy to add this post to Jane’s Post of the Month Club.

BIG news: my new fine art shop

It just gets better and better over here, doesn’t it?  I hope you’re going to be as thrilled about this next announcement as I am… drumroll please.  I’ve opened a new online gallery and shop!

I have over 100 of my images sorted into various viewing galleries and I’m going through my hard drives and adding more every day (about 500 more to come).  The best part of this store is that it’s through FineArtAmerica.  You can use my images to design and order greeting cards, framed prints, canvases, and so much more, and all in one place!

Please visit and let me know what you think of the pricing, size options, etc.  This is a new venture for me and I would love your feedback.

P.S. Inspirational greeting cards and 2013 calendars are here.
