For a few days this month, we welcomed cooler weather and enjoyed being outside. My sweet girl and I went for walks, took photos of the sky, and began collecting acorns. The promise of this lovely weather returning soon makes me excited for more of nature’s glory.

Just returned from Europe to cooler weather – it was apparently scorching hot here while we were gone. I’m ready for fall, so that’s a good thing. Just hope I have a little time to get outside and do some garden cleanup before it gets too wet or cold. I’ve completely lost interest in my garden and need to try to get it back. We’re home for a couple of months before we head out wandering again, and I’m going to hate looking at the ugliness that is out there right now!

Slow and shy this year, I’m grateful for the long stretch of change
instead of how sometimes it all comes on so fast and slips by in a fury.
Gives us longer to savor.

I am having sooo much fun taking autumn photos. I posted bunch on my Facebook page. I am holding myself back from posting more because I think people may be sick of them. Do I sound somewhat out of control?
Each time I see one of your FB photos, I am transported to such wonders! You inspire me to hope fall is heading this way. I hear we will finally have cooler temps on Thursday. Here’s hoping!
Autumn is a lovely time of year, with more comfortable weather, trees turning and the snow back on the high peaks. I spent a few hours on Sunday raking maple leaves, and enjoying their rich scent. I worked some into our compost heap on Friday, but we have far too many to compost ourselves. I am going to take them to the yard waste dropoff on Saturday, because I am always out of town Boulder’s curbside compost pickup.
Raking leaves sounds fun… said by someone who doesn’t often do it!
