Make every day joyful

“We should consider every day lost in which we have not danced at least once.”   Nietzsche

Doesn’t this little rose branch look like a little hand stretching up?

Gretchen Rubin recently did one of her happiness interviews with Richard Florida.  “Much of his work is about happiness—how to find the work, location, and situation that’s most likely to suit you and allow you to be as happy as you can be.”

Is there a happiness mantra or motto that you’ve found very helpful?
Yes, every day needs a party. My wife Rana and I have one every single day in our own way, making dinner, drinking wine, watching a movie, going for a walk, hanging out with family or friends. One way or another we find a way to make a party each and every single day.

I LOVE the idea of planning to have fun no matter what.  My daughter and I just love dancing around our living room to the CD from her music class turned up loud.

Fun can be found anywhere, at any time. We simply have to make it happen.

Share how you make your days more fun-filled…

it is about having a good day, smile and the world smiles with you, have a listen I bet you will be smiling before the song is over!

  3. Aunt Val says:

A growing up memory of Aunt Val’s…
Whenever I got bored with my coloring book, Barbie, or TV, I’d look for mom for ideas to not be bored. She was either cooking, hanging clothes on the line in the back yard, ironing or folding clothes in the den, or cleaning the house. If I told her I was bored, she stopped what she was doing long enough to give me a tired look, then showed me how to cook, clean, fold, or cuddle up with her to quietly watch General Hospital with her. I wasn’t bored anymore and I felt good about myself that I learned something new: how to make a hot dog, fold Dad’s underwear, or know when to be quiet when certain actors were on the TV screen. Mom danced with Dad almost every evening when he got home from work. I wasn’t jealous. I felt secure in their love for each other. Mom and I are close friends and have been all my life. I felt important that she let me into her world.
I also remember a time or two when she would lie on the floor next to me and color with me. Those times were very rare but very fun, too.
